Greaser Cardinal Line Up
The cardinal was easy to design because the black design of a cardinal was instantly recognizable.  However I had to compromise the iconic cardinal crown to be combed down for the hairstyle that is typical of greasers in the 1950s.  If I was to redo this project I would enlarge head so the character fits with bird proportions. 

My greaser cardinal was inspired by the movie "Grease", mainly Kenickie.  Wanted to go for a vain and crude kind of guy.

Four Great Beauties of China: Xi Shi 2013

Starting a series of personal painting based on a legend in Ancient China.  In all honesty I just wanted to draw beautiful women, here is the first one hope you enjoy because I did!

Under 50 Boards 2013

Last storyboard of the year, digitally fixed.  The sound effects were included for the blog and not for submission so it's really rough.  Basic summary: A vile caveman out on a rampage with his new club causing destructive consequences  even for hundreds of generations after.

Rejects 2013

This is the second option for storyboards based on the poem "I wanna be the leader".  The concept was as strong as "My father is a werewolf" so no further work was done after the boards, but I'll post it anyways because the characters were really fun to draw.

Rejected boards:  Jennifer wanted to be the leader even though she was not chosen. So she decides to put matters into her own hands placing Yi in a difficult decision.

My Father is a Werewolf 2013

First storyboarding assignment of the year, theme was based off the poem "My Father is a Werewolf". My take became less and less literal with every "Turnover Session".  With the help of my professor I boarded a story of a hair loving family intrigued with the taste of human hair.  Reluctantly I had to remove Mica (inspired by an adorable puppy) from the storyboards because the story changed directions later on.
